Celestial Programming : Greek Symbols

This is a list of commonly used Greek Symbols in mathematics. Other variations exist, below is a list of the most common variations. Some symbols have more than one common variation, in which case, multiple symbols are shown.

Whenever possible, it is recommended to use the Greek symbols in code which implements equations. This can facilitate debugging, and avoid collisions or acciental reuse of varaibles. For example, the symbol ρ is similar to the English letter "p", but is named "rho". There are also capital and small versions of each letter, but the style conventions of most languages dictate that variables start with small letters which could easily result in an unnoticed naming collision. A word of caution, though, is that although most modern programming languages support their use, some will require special flags to be set, and some text editors or other software will not interpret them correctly. So, when developing for a wide audience, it is recommended to avoid their use.

Entering the letters into source code can be tedius, I recommend just copy and pasting the symbols from the table below.
